Mental Health First Aid Training Courses
Supporting workplace wellbeing through quality assured, evidence based mental health first aid training courses
Overview
At any one time, one worker in six will be experiencing depression, anxiety or issues relating to stress (1). One in four people in the UK will experience at least one diagnosable mental health issue in any one year (2).
As well as supporting the mental health of your workplace community, these courses equip staff with the knowledge and skills to support their own and other people’s mental health at home and in their communities outside work. This is particularly relevant as more people work from home and find themselves outside their familiar workplace support structures.
an experienced trainer
As an accredited Instructor Member, I am approved by Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England to deliver their workplace training courses.
In addition to my substantial experience of delivering these training courses, my 25 year career working in, managing and leading mental health and wellbeing services for students in the university sector makes me a confident and credible mental health trainer.
The MHFA England Instructor Training programme that I completed to become an accredited instructor member is accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health.
courses
These courses do not teach people to be therapists or counsellors, or how to diagnose mental health conditions or provide ongoing support. Instead, they provide participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence to recognise the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues and effectively guide a person towards the right support.
All courses can be delivered virtually, or face-to-face at your organisation’s premises.
